Saxony Carpets

Choosing the right carpet for your home is no easy task, it's essential to find the right flooring that fits both your interior design taste and your lifestyle.we have so much experience in this area that we can advise on the exact range that would suit your needs and why not take a sample home with you?

What is a Saxony carpet?
A Saxony carpet is made of twisted carpet fibres that stand up straight with a cut loop pile. High quality saxony carpets are made from 100% nylon with the pile being around half an inch or less. It's particularly popular as a bedroom carpet. Many hotels and corporate function rooms will even have plush saxony carpet installed to create that superior charm that is second to none, whilst also being hard wearing.

Which rooms are best suited for Saxony carpets?
Due to the plushness and elegance of our Saxony carpets, we recommend using them in bedrooms and rooms that are used for entertaining. Because they are extremely soft they often leave marks from footprints and vacuum cleaning so are not ideal for the living room.

Does furniture sit well on a saxony carpet?
Your furniture will sit well on any saxony carpet however you may find it leaves marks in the carpet which can be difficult to remove. We recommend a simple coin to rub the pile back to its height.

I recently re-carpeted my whole house with Axminster from DM Davies and am extremely pleased with the result! Having been into the Carpet shop in Aberystwyth we also came across Amtico and our kitchen floor has now never looked better. Thank you! Mrs T Jones, Waun Fawr
